Privacy Policy

StraitTraffic does not require an account and does not ask for personal data. This page explains what is collected automatically when you use the site.

Web analytics

We use web analytics (Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica) to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, country and language of visitors, referring sites, and interactions such as opening the live map or a vessel card. These services set cookies and may process your IP address and browser details on their own infrastructure under their own privacy policies. We use the aggregated reports only to improve the service.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, browser identifier, time) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically after a short retention period.

Third-party content

Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap, and chart and map libraries from a public content delivery network. Loading them sends your IP address to those providers.

Vessel data

Vessel names, identifiers and positions shown on the site are public AIS broadcasts that ships are required to transmit. They concern vessels, not people.
